The In-Between Moments

The in-between moments are special. For a photographer they take a little more work to find. Every wedding we document, we approach with the excitement of knowing that the day is like a treasure hunt, and discovering these moments is the prize.

Favorites from the Archives

Below are just some of Dave's favorite images from over the years. With literally millions of photos in the archive, it's not easy narrowing them down to a just a handful. And while this is a mere fraction of all of

the memorable wedding moments Dave has captured, this collection provides a comprehensive overview of how Dave sees the world from behind his lens. Big weddings, small weddings, elopements, first dances, candids, fireworks,

vows, fun portraits, traditional portraits, vibrant flowers, tears, laughter, marching bands, and even a child in flight. It's all here and I hope that you enjoy viewing these photos as much as Dave had taking them.

FAQ

Is Dave Robbins Photography the wedding photographer for me?

Choosing a wedding photographer for your big day is an exciting undertaking. It can also be a daunting one. With so many wedding photographers in NYC, how can you know who is right for you? I always say that it's 50% how the imagery moves you, and 50% how comfortable you feel with the person following you around with a camera on your wedding day. Dave prides himself on knowing how to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable having their photo taken. Our sole purpose as wedding photographers is to capture your greatest, most beautiful self by finding the moments that best exhibit who you are as a couple. We pride ourselves on our ability to do just that with the care, thoughtfulness, and comfort of a good friend.

Do you photograph Destination Weddings?

I travel worldwide and offer destination wedding photography for couples looking for exceptional photojournalistic wedding photography. There are few places I enjoy photographing a wedding more than NYC. Let's see, there's Italy, The Caribbean, Riviera Maya, Cartagena, the Cote d'Azur, Hawaii, Palm Springs, the Greek Isles to name a few. If you are planning a destination wedding, I have cameras and will travel!

What is your favorite wedding venue?

Quite honestly, my favorite wedding venue is any place where my clients are celebrating a special occasion. Location certainly plays a role in a photograph but to me, the most important thing is that there are people having a good time. That being said, here is a short list of some NYC wedding venues that come to mind: New York Public Library, The Rainbow Room, The St. Regis Hotel, The American Museum of Natural History, The New York Historical Society, The Carlyle, The Central Park Zoo, Tribeca Rooftop, Weylin, The Pierre Hotel, Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The list goes on and on and on.....

Do I need a wedding planner?

Wedding planners are awesome. I've had the great pleasure of working with many of the world's best. Whether you do or you don't hire a wedding planner, I am a free agent and will work with anyone

Do you only photograph weddings?

While wedding photography is my passion I do offer photography for all of life's celebrations. Mitzvah photography, family shoots, big birthday parties, intimate gatherings - if you celebrate it, we can bring our unique style of photography to tell your story.

Will I own my wedding images?

This is a great question and one of the most important to understand. When you hire us, you will receive edited, high-resolution digital files of your photographs. There is no buy-in or additional charge for you to have the images you've invested in us to take. As the photographer, we retain the copyright of your images. However, unlimited personal use and printing of your wedding photos is part of the deal. Important to note that we respect your privacy and will never insist on retaining any right to publish photos of you if that's something you're uncomfortable with. For the discrete clientele, NDA's are available upon request.

"For me, there is nothing as satisfying as capturing a moment that speaks to who my client is. It's more than just the luck of being in the right place at the right time. It's about anticipating and knowing who your subject is. These defining moments come in the form of a glance, a smile, a posture, an unspoken word. They are often subtle but once you identify them, they are priceless."

The

Engagement Sessions

The question has been popped. Planning for the wedding has begun. The search for a wedding photographer is in full swing when it dawns on you - you're not particularly comfortable being the center of attention or having your photo taken. Join the club! One of the best ways for you to get to comfortable with the idea of being followed around by a person on your wedding day is to have a little trial run - the engagement shoot. Not only is it a great way to get acquainted with your photographer but it's also a great way for us to get to know you. Sessions are laid back, fun and as collaborative as you'd like them to be. We love NYC engagement sessions but are always willing to travel to help you make the best possible photos

THE

Storytelling is an integral part of what a wedding photographer is entrusted to do.

The galleries below contain photographs from weddings that Dave has captured over the years. These collections are comprised of thousands of small moments that, when pieced together, create a rich tapestry of life at its most joyous. We believe that every moment matters, and that each photograph says something worth saying. So, take your time, stay awhile, and most importantly....

Destination: Turks & Caicos

Wymara Resorts and Villas and The Mothershouse Villa in Turks & Caicos were perfect locations Liz & Efrem's destination wedding weekend. This beachy, breezy beach wedding was a feet in the sand affair.

The beach ceremony took place at The Motherhouse private villa for an intimate, homey feel. Sofia Crokos Events created a magical setting under the palm trees and stars for the sit-down dinner. The dance party was helmed by the talented DJ Mia Moretti who was accompanied by Caitlin Moe on the electric violin. All in all, a magical wedding day in Turks and Caicos.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND IN THE HAMPTONS

Ally and Ryan's Hamptons wedding was a two-day affair. Starting with an intimate beach wedding ceremony at the Bridgehampton Surf and Tennis Club the weekend culminated with an Alice in Wonderland inspired fete at The Parrish Art Museum. One of my favorite parts of the weekend was spending time at Shou Sugi Ban House taking portraits of Ally in her unreal Ines Disanto wedding gown. Thanks to Carrie Sartor of Sartor Events, David Beahm, The Stylish Bride, The Parrish Art Museum, Ceci New York, Robbins-Wolfe, Nine Cakes and McKenzie Miller Films for being the perfect teammates on this fairytale wedding weekend.

Italian Dream Wedding

Dani and Alan's destination wedding on board the mega yacht Omega was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For a week we cruised the Mediterranean with Dani & Alan's closest friends and family. Each day we departed for a new port and a new adventure, from Ravello to Positano. On the wedding day, Dani wore a stunning gown by Roberto Cavalli Wedding Couture. The wonderful Annie Lee, of Daughter of Design, was the Event Planner for this dream Italian wedding. She has been included on of Bazaar's Top Planner in the World list for good reason.
